چکیده
We examine a recent claim that Debye screening will affect the charge transport mechanism of anomalous electroweak baryogenesis, and show that the effects of gauge charge screening do not affect the baryon number produced during a first order electroweak phase transition.

If stable electroweak strings are copiously produced during the electroweak phase transition, they may contribute significantly to the presently observed baryon to entropy ratio of the universe. This analysis establishes the feasibility of implementing an electroweak baryogenesis scenario without a first order phase transition. ⋆ To be published in the proceedings of the March 1992 Texas-Yale W...

We derive an effective local operator produced by certain wormhole instantons in a theory containing a massless Wess-Zumino multiplet coupled to N=1 su-pergravity. The induced interactions are D terms, and hence will not lead to spontaneous supersymmetry breaking. We conclude that supersymmetry suppresses wormhole-induced matter couplings.

Existence and properties of the electroweak phase transition in the early universe depend strongly on the mass of the Higgs scalar M H. There is presumably no true symmetry restoration at high temperature. Nevertheless , a first order phase transition occurs in the standard model for M H ∼ < 70 GeV. For a realistic scalar mass M H ∼ > 70 GeV the transition to the high temperature regime is desc...

The dominant electroweak double logarithmic corrections to the process e + e − → f ¯ f at high energy are found in all orders of perturbation theory. In contrast to results in simple Yang-Mills theories these corrections do not exponentiate.

We first review why a strongly first-order phase transition needed for baryogenesis is excluded in the electroweak standard model. We also comment on some intriguing effects in the strongly interacting hot phase. In the MSSM with a light stop a strongly first-order phase transition can be achieved. It possibly proceeds in two stages.
